Child born in India - can we apply for British passport for the child?

Child born in India - can we apply for British passport for the child?
We are british citizens (took citizenship 2 yrs ago). We have now moved to india, our child is born here. To apply his passport do we need to fill formC2 or OS_form_009?
Also we have registered his birth in the local municipal office - do we need to register it with the high commission?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Unable to help as our children were born in UK. I think if you go to the IndiaMike Forum visa/passport section this situation has already been dealt with or some one will answer your question.
One tip, keep whatever documents you have relating to his birth in India in case in the future he wants to apply for an OCI card etc.
