Smile Mumbai advice

Been offered a job out here for a few years and currently out here for a week to explore. Few questions ...

I am a single female who loves going out and drinking/partying, should I be worried about safety?

Where is best to live (obviously will try get close to work to cut down commute) but what's important to me is a social scene rather than Suburb close to schools etc. I currently live in Central London loving the lifestyle have originated in Scotland and lived in Africa. Not afraid of a challenge but need to feel safe, have a good standard of living and enough space for an enormousness shoe collection

All advice welcome

Where will you be working? Mumbai is a large city, with many of the suburbs becoming small 'towns', recent road/ transport improvements have made commuting easier, but still travel can be difficult in rush hour and particularly during monsoon. Will you have a car provided.

A week is not that long to explore even one area!!!

Apartments vary in rent, in best areas more expensive than London. I presume your social contacts will be workmates at first. Expensive apartment blocks may have gyms, pools etc where you might meet others, same as London really.

Safety, much the same as any city. Walking alone depends on the area you are in.
Crossing roads as a pedestrian and being driven on freeways are my biggest fears anywhere in India!!!

For a substantial percentage of the [male] population that would make you - what can I say? - 'easy'. You could be very vulnerable.
