Yet another South African wants to move
Hi there
I'm a South African who wants to migrate to Australia. I've done the
informal test and with my sister as sponsor I have 130 points and
without her I have 115 points, so in theory I do qualify.
I want to do the application for my Visa myself (do not want to use an
agency). Can somebody direct me in what to do? Has anybody done it
themselves and can give me some advise on problems they bumped into?
Will you do it yourself again?
Thanks
Karina Maritz

Firstly, download the skilled migration booklet, if you haven't done
so already. All the information you need is there. Read it properly,
cover to cover, and read Form 47SK as well.
Your initial step is to get a skills assessment, which may or may not
turn out to be a monumental task for you, depending on your skills,
qualifications, and experience.

Many people have done it by themselves, and it's not rocket science -
especially if your case is straight-forward. The skills assessment
part is usually where people lose sleep over. Then there are other
issues like child custody, work experience (deeming date, basic
requirement, etc), and so on.

I don't intend to do it again Once is enough for me, thank you!
