A word of advice....send all the paperwork you have!!
Hi all. we arrived into Cairns on a 457 visa in Feb09. was sponsored for my PR visa by work and it was granted in 3 weeks!!! I then had to sponsor my interdependent partner for his PR....this was granted in two weeks!!!!! cannot belive the speed of it all!!! we thought it would take years!!
So advice.....The visa process is so bureaucratic!! spend time to gather all the information! read what is required and follow it to the letter. Give them the information they require and some!!! Send it all in one go if you can. We have been really suprised at the speed but it took days and days of work to get the applications together and they were about an inch thick!!
so good luck and its worth it when you get here!!

Aw, glad you guys got it in such a short time...
I have been advised of 3-9 monhs - average 6 months, though we are applying offshore in Dubai... and when I spoke to the lady at the Consulate here she laughed at me saying it will take 6-12 months.... I can say I do not know how will I be able to wait for so long knowing my partner is away from me for so long....

you are mentioning Offshore PR or spouse visa?

Hiya I am talking about 310 temporary partner visa we have met in Dubai (3rd country - my partner is Aussie, I am from EU) and I have to leave due to job loss - my partner will stay in Dubai until I get visa and then we will move to Oz.. I hoped 3 months....but it does not look like it...
