Actually not that old (48) but for a skills visa I am, since the cutoff is 45.. :>(
I'll be coming from the USA, with backround as a computer system Administrator,
primarily NT based, with some UNIX. I'll be coming in with an Electronic Travel
Authority (good for 3 months), and will then look for some business to try and
sponsor me.
I guess my question is... am i crazy and just wasting my time, or is there a real
chance, that I might actually get hired...?
Thanks for any insights you may have...

When you get there, work like MAD to promote yourself. You might be able to get
sposnorship if the IT "shortage" is a dire as it seems to be from reading this board.
Maybe another option would be to simply apply for a change in visa status when you
got there.
