Does anyone have recent experience to tell me how long it took to receive their visa after medicals and police checks were sent off? My family's checks will all be completed by mid-February and I'm keen to know roughly how long we have to wait to escape.............!

They dont seem to be working to any sort of time line our meds and pcc cleared in Dec and still no visa where others had their's clear after us and have been granted their visa.

Its just about waiting which is the stressful bit.

we were told by our agent that if we got the meds and PCCs done by late Feb we would get our visa by the end of March.

I'm very surprised your agent will give you assurances like that. They can't know for certain how long processing will take, if your CO goes on holiday, if your meds throw up any problems etc.

Our visa was granted 5 weeks after meds recieved in sydney. it can be much longer, it can be shorter.

it seems about right at the moment. 4-5 weeks. no guarantees, ofcourse, but highly reasonable. We are as fit a fiddles !! ....which should help (cough)

Our medicals arrived in Sydney on 14th December and we received our Visa on 11th January - so it was exactly 4 weeks. Was expecting to wait longer because of Xmas, but we must have been lucky.
