Question Visa subclass 186 - childbirth

Me and my wife are British citizens, we have no children at the moment.

I have been given a work opportunity in Australia on visa subclass 186.

If, say, my wife gives birth one year after we started working in Australia on this specific visa, would our child get dual British-Australian citizenship, given that 186 is a permanent resident visa?

Thanks

Yes a child born to a PR parent in Australia would be an Australian citizen by birth and a British citizen by descent.

Even only a day after landing in Australia? (In theory.)

Yes.
Also in theory no airline will board a woman so close to giving birth.
