Default visa/skills assessed, which one first

hi all. After 2 yrs of talking we are finally ready to start apllying for our visa. My partner is a gas fitter and I wondered if we need to get his skills assessed by the TRA before applying for the visa?

Thanks
Nicola

Hi yes we had to get my partners skills assessed first, but we had an agent so we just followed the stages as and when req, my partner is a bricklayer,
cus you cant go on to next stage until skills assess passed
