HI Rosa: My father is heading to melbourne the 2nd week of March from China. He doesnt wish to sell his Unit , so not much to prepare...I think As long as you pay them money, they will grant the VIsa within 3 days.

Hi All,
I am joining CPV as today I posted my parents application forms (although mail from Melbourne to Perth is apparently 3-4 days...ridiculous but that's another thread). I don't want to count my chickens but the idea of my parents moving over and living here, and spending time with their grandchildren, is so exciting that I dare not think about it too much..
Anyway, that's about it...

Once you get acknowledgement of lodgement if you post it on here, Steve (sandch) will add it to the timeline which you can find here http://www.gainwave.co.uk/Page2.htm then select one of the options bottom left of page. It will give you a good idea of how long the whole process has been taking.

We are going over to validate our visa in April and returning in June, until the house is sold. Can you tell me, are there any problems, that you know of, travelling in and out of Australia once the visa has been validated? Are there any extra forms needed?????
Thanks Matt. Cheers, Ann (Walna)

Theres no problems I can think of, just have to remember on the "Outgoing Passenger Card" that you fill in on departing from Oz, that you will be a "Resident" departing, thats a good feeling! After that you have 5 years from date of validation, in which to return!
Good luck

Hi Matt, you must have a good spring in your step having the visa in your pocket and every penny you earn will mean so much more. We are only at stage 1 waiting for a CO but have sold our house (at full price so an offer we couldn't refuse) and move into rental on 12th March. Like you can't go to Oz yet until so it all seems so surreal! Hope the pot grows quickly then you can be off to start the rest of your lives.
