Default Spouse Visa - Form 888

Hi, new to this, but hope someone can help? A bit of background - I have dual nationality - born in Perth Australia, and we (hubbie, and little girl) are trying to get to Oz on Spouse Visa subclass 100. We are getting confused with the statutory decs - (we have 4 already - both sets of parents, 1 set of friends from UK, and a friend from Oz). However, we keep reading that we need to provide 2 x forms 888 - decs from Aussie citizens - we only have 1, so, what do we do? Do we really need 2? Even if we don't know anybody else? Advice greatly appreciated - cheers!

They are only stat decs if they are provided by Australian citizens. You can provide the information from non-Australians but it is only considered a statement. This needs to conform the the relevant laws within the country in which you reside.

Basically, you do the exact same thing if you're in the UK but it won't be deemed a stat dec by law but serves the same purpose. I guess they just expect Australians to be more objective when it comes to supporting immigrants. You can use form 888 as a template too.

As has been said, the 888 is just for the Aussie's to complete. If you don't have two lots of Aussies, don't worry. I didn't use any official layout for the other ones. They were just done as letters 'to whom it may concern' and signed. Didn't have them certified or anything like that. You're married with a child - it will be (generally speaking) straightforward.
