Hi Simon

You might like to see whether your UK experience will get you membership of the British
Computer Society. Full professional membership of the BCS will get you the nod from the
ACS. You can download the ACS RPL form and get more info from http://www.acs.org.au The
RPL process requires detailed information. If you would like to talk about assistance we
can provide, send me an email direct.

Cheers, I looked at this. The BCS membership takes about 4 months. The RPL assessment is
supposed to take 6 weeks so the BCS is a bit of a long way round. They're both assessing
the same thing (aren't they.....). Still, if they fail my RPL, I'll try again once I've
joined the BCS...(I can get associate professional membership which apparently is enough)

Do you know if this is also the case with members of ACM (Association for Computing
Machinery) in the United States?

Thanks,

Unfortunately, ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) in the United States is not a
winner in that regard. limited to BCS, Hong Kong Computer Society, New Zealand Computer
Society and Singapore Computer Society.
