Default Rheumatoid Arthritus - medical help?

I have Rheumatoid Arthritus and although it doesn't give me any problems and is controlled by taking tablets I wondering how this will affect my chances ref my medical.

I have been advised to get a letter from my consultant explaining my condition but was wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this as a medical condition or has any advice.

Thanks

Hi

My OH has this condition and we too were concerned how this would effect our application. We got letters from GP and Consultant and took them with us to the medicals. We then seemed to wait ages, then they requested he and his consultant provide more info but the date of his next assessment had to be 6mths after his medical (maybe to see if there had been any changes to his conditon) He provided all the information that they requested and our process did take nearly 2 years but when we got that golden ticket it was really worth jumping through all the extra hoops!!

My advice is go for it!!! Good Luck, but I am sure you wont need it

Thanks for replying, I'm quite concerned because although i dont have any problems with it, they may see it as a high risk. Thanks for the reassurance. Congrats on getting your visas, all the best.x

Hi, although I am no expert and am not qualified to advise on situations, I too have RA.(in addition to high blood pressure)
I obtained a letter from my Gp regarding my diagnosis an medication.
I got my visa fine and have been in Perth for 5 years now.

All the best!!!
