Default Resident Return Visa Help

I have been granted Australian Residency in Sep 2009. Total I have been in Australia for 9 months ..

2 months in 2010
7 months in 2013

Now again i ll be going to Australia by the end of december 2013. My Visa expires in sep 2014.

If I am applying in august 2014 it will be 17 months stay in OZ land. Will I get 5 years RRV or I have to apply for 1 year RRV?

I can provide my parents medical records as it was the main reason I was not able to stay in Australia for required 2 years. I am the only son.

I have worked as IT contractor for 2 weeks. I have my pay slip. Will it help my application?

Kindly Advice
Thanks.

Default Re: Resident Return Visa Help

1 year.

The reasons for your absence don't matter in determining whether you get 1 or 5 years. 5 years is only for those who have been present in Australia for 730 days in the 5 years prior to applying.

Assuming you stay in Australia after August 2014 and get a 1 year RRV then, you will be entitled to a 5 year RRV after your 1 year one runs out. And then citizenship seven months or so later.
