Region 1 anybody?
Hi
Most of you all seem to be region 2 or 3 is anybody else been allocated CO in region 1?
Anybody who was in region 1 how long after medicals cleared before you got an answer?

I'm a bit confused why people keep talking about regions!?
Surely it will depend more on the type of visa you are applying for, the country you are applying from and your individual case officer? See Alan Colletts replies:

We were on a 136 visa and region 1, we got the Visa Grant roughly 2 weeks after they got the Meds and PCC`s

Hi
We are region 1 and applying for 496 Skilled Sponsored Designated Area visa. We emailed scanned police checks on 1st March and medicals should have been received around this time too. will let you know how long we have to wait for visa grant.

In fact after last year's reorganisation there's now Branch 1 and Branch 2 and Branch 1 has three groups, Regions 1, 2 and 3. You'll see from http://www.immi.gov.au/gateways/agents/faqs/5.0.htm that the UK is in Branch 1 - within that branch cases are allocated to the three regions pretty much at random, I'm told.

Am I right in thinking, once our meds are sent to Oz, they go to Sydney? I was told that they would have them in Sydney for up to 5 weeks before they sent the report to your CO?????

our meds are in transit don;t think it will be till end of april 4 us but they can grant b4 if they have noting else to do lol
