Default Recruitment through 457 visa

Hi

I have worked in sales for years and am thinking of moving to recruitment.I have been told i can apply for sponsorship to do recruitment in Oz.

Has anyone done this,I am also 40 so not sure i would have enough points for sponsorship.

That kind of visa is not points tested, but it does have its own skill requirements and what would be the plan to get permanent residence?

I thought i would have to go through the sponsorship points test,How is 457 assessed?I thought i would have to be points tested

I would eventually ask them to sponsor me on a perm visa,as long as i bill enough money for them there should be no problem.

Thanks for your help

Neil

With respect, you appear to have a number of fundamental understanding gaps about how the visa system works in Australia.

I'd strongly recommend looking at booklets 5 and 11 to begin with, also booklet 6.

Hi Neil,

Jeremy's right that you'll need to do some reading to understand all this; the bottom line is, however, that you would need a qualified employer to sponsor you, have an acceptable nomination (there is a minimum salary level requirement which operates as a practical barrier to people changing careers) and also would need to meet certain skills requirements.

Good luck!

Cheers,
