Post Question Asked by Vic SS

Hi Guys,

I got my ACS as oracle specialist but since MODL was revoked and was short of 5 points. So i went for VIC SS on 16th Feb2010 and got a confirmation email in about 4 days with my case no. About 10 days back they sent my agent an email asking if could show what makes AU$ 60,000. I replied yes i could show my property and stuff. And now 4 days back they sent an email stating thank you for applying for VIC SS. Your application will be assessed and it will take about 8 - 10 weeks. Isnt it strange kind of behaviour? Has anybody being asked the same question?

Many thanks.

its obvious shafqat , its really a strange beahviour atleast for me, victorian goverenment seems to me never ever crystal clear towards their policy. They never ask to take such oath to reveal the fund, dunno what they have protcol, it seems to me it varies case to case . They denied my case with no reason, though i have the same skills which the OP has, but they did not ask me any such commitments which i could do.Victorian sponsorship seems to me like shooting in the dark.

yes I had the same experience but surprisingly they sent 3 emails as follows:
1- send us a detailed CV
2- Why do u wana live in Vic?
3- How much money can you bring along?
4- decleration form
but they did not asked for proof
it seems they asked these questions late cus I applied on 09 march and got these emails on 16 march while u applied in feb and got this email only 10 days ago! did they ask for a decleration form ?

No. They have not asked for the declaration form.

The strange behaviour was they asked a question if i could show AU$ 60k and in the next email they acknowledged that my application will be assessed and it might take 8-10 weeks instead of asking any proofs and stuff. The acknowledgement email should have been sent before asking any further questions. Anyway i will keep my fingers crossed.

Actually i studied at RMIT University in Melbourne back in 2003/04 and dont know if that would make any difference in getting a positive answer from them. hope everything goes smoooth.

They asked me for my reasons for wanting to live there and how much I thought making the move would cost (I said $50k) among other things, but I was never asked to show my bank statements proving access to the funds.
