PSA - Nottinghamshire Police Checks (PCCs)
Hi All,
This is for anyone who is / will be dealing with Nottinghamshire Police for their subject access records, and may affect more people.
The standard form says that it can take up to 40 days to return the information and this is from the date of acknowledgement, not the date of receipt (about 1 week to acknowledge in our case).
We have been waiting for 28 days now for our forms to be returned, so I phoned them this morning. They said that, although the form that is filled in is for Notts Police, and it is returned to one of their offices, they send off for the information to London. I asked whether the full 40 days would be needed and the guy said that they were all taking around 40 days at the moment.
If other forces also send their requests to London then it could affect more people.
There is nothing really to complain about as they are only doing what they said they would, but for your information, please be aware that it can be up to 6 weeks to get your PCCs back.
We have found that this is the most frustrating part of the whole process as we have done everything else, meds processed, TRA passed and our CO is just waiting for this one piece of information.
Good luck,
Sara & Paul

ALL the forms for police forces in England and Wales go to New Scotland Yard for the Police National Computer check to be done. The 40 days is the time set by law under the Data Protection Act, and the vast majority of checks are done within this time. The ID check, and the acceptance of the money is done locally, to avoid overwhelming the Met.
the results will be returned to you directly from New Scotland Yard, and even if the forms are submitted together they may come back separately, so don't panic if you get one back before the other.
