we are currently trying to decide between NZ and Oz! I have been on maternity leave this year and will have to wait till March to make up my 'experience' again. At the moment I am losing points for not being employed for 3 out of the last 4 years - Oz immigration doesn't count maternity leave as being employed! :curse:

So, my question is can we make up our points with a job offer? I know that for NZ migration you get bonus points for a job offer. Is this the same for Oz?

Forgot to say - this is on the skilled visa.

I made my points up by doing the general IELTS tests (10 extra points),

Job offer makes a difference only if your nominated occupation is on the MODL. That is 15 for MODL vs 20 points for MODL+job offer, if your occupation itself is a 60-point one.
