Default Permanent Residence Granted

Hi /
We received a phone call from DIMA In Melbourne this morning to say that Brigitte had been granted her Permanent Residence
This phone call came approximately 4 weeks after the papers were returned to Dima . The initial application for a Spousal Visa was lodged in July 2001 Application lodged in Mauritius and sent to office in Pretoria Approximately 12 weeks later Temporary visa granted First entry into Australia 30/10/2001
Papers arrived for Permanent Residence application 01/08/2003 approximately 2 years after initial application was made The only thing left to do now is wait another 2 years to make an application for Australian Citizenship Dates are on Timeline Gerard & Brigitte

Gerard & Brigitte,

Congratulations. 2 years is a pretty short period to wait

All the best.

Thanks Peter
I guess after studying this site very carefully for 2 1/2 years you get a very good idea on how to go about putting applications together . My idea was to put in a very complete & comprehensive application which was friendly to the Case Officer Neither time did they ask for any further information nor did they ask for an interview Guess we got it right Very relieved it is over though Lots of living to do We are both very grateful for the Insight this site has given us Gerard & Brigitte
