Thanks for all the messages and congratulations Caroline. I also feel for Nix and Mike you've got to be next. Have you got an agent?

Nope - no agent. I am not sure they would be help in getting the visa moving along though.....more in the application process, and I found that fairly straight forward.
Note much I can do now but wait.....

And believe you me, when we get some news......any news!!!!....this forum will hear about it load and clear !

Have you made any enquiries about problems with the 138 now being defunct? I'd be surprised if that wasn't the key issue with your grant being so unbelievably slow?

I just Googled it and found a post on Pomsinoz talking about the 138 and 136 being deprioritised, which is outrageous if you think about it.

Stamp your feet mate.

Not sure I understand what you mean by "defunct"? It simply changed to a 176 after 1 Sep 07....but it is the same Skilled Austrlian Sponsored visa.....
And 136 and 138 being deprioritised.......news to me.....and very very concerning.

Wonder where I can find out more....

Defunct as in an old category. I might be barking up the wrong tree here but if it was as simple as just giving it a new number - how come the processing times for the 138 are only at July 2007 but the 176 is November 2007? Even taking into consideration that we know those times are sketchy (my 176 app from March was granted in Sept) to me it seems incredibly unfair - logic to me would be to finish processing all the 'old' applications before moving onto the new - do you see what I mean?

If you google it, it'll come up with a link to pomsinoz where someone has written a post saying their agent told them 138s had been deprioritised. Possibly just hearsay but then why would the dates be so far apart...?

I have no idea what the facts are here but I do know if I was a 136 or 138 I would be kicking up one hell of a stink.

Some good news for all us paperbased people, we have finally got a case officer, nearly 11 months after filing (27/11/07). Got a call from our agent today saying she had received a request for further info. Meds and police checks only, meds are booked for 1st of Nov.

Hope you all get your case officers soon

That's excellent news, what are you applying for? We're 175, can't seem to find anyone on here applying for the same. Goodluck, Karen:)

Hi, nice to meet you.

You must be due to be allocated soo surely! We lodged on 4th June 2008 so looks like we have quite a wait ahead yet. I wish we'd done this sooner now as we had friends did this 18 months ago and where all completed from TRA to Visa in 7 months.
It would appear that online applications are getting priority at the moment. For some reason our agent didn't even suggest that route, but it would seem we'd have got there quicker had we taken it.
It just seems such a minefield and getting information is near impossible.
I'm seriously considering getting our medicals and police checks done in the next few months so that hopefully once we are allocated it will be a quick response. Karen:confused:

Hi, we're also 175 lodged 15th May and like you, also used an agent who did not inform us that it would have been quicker to e-lodge. Oh hindsight would be such a wonderful gift, dont you think? We are going to get our meds and pcc's done in the next couple of months, hopefully that will save a bit of time later on:huh:
