I'm trying to compile a list of all addresses I've lived in for the past 10 years - and to be honest some dates are sketchy i.e. I have only only the year but I'm not really sure what month I moved (either life was a blur or I've tried to repress those eras!) In these cases, is it okay to hazard an approximate month?

Sorry to post a really facile question, I keep making the mistake of trying to wade through visa paperwork at stupid o'clock times when my brain refuses to function because I should be sleeping!

Just put the best that you can remember, and you can always add a note apologising for the gaps due to sketchy memory.
