NZ: Family class or general skills?
Hi All
I have the option of applying for NZ residence through either the Family class or
general skills category.
Are there different process times for these and given the choice, which would be the
best to apply under? Family class seems better in terms of less documentation and
paperwork required, but I wondered if it's capped and therefore I may miss out?
However, I'm a bit worried that under the general skills path, NZIS might not issue a
work permit even though I score 24 points with no job offers.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks Anthony

Yes, I know. What I mean is that NZIS *tend* to issue work permits for people within
5 points of the passmark to go and get a job and then their residency will be
approved. As you can see above, I'm just wondering how often they grant this.
Thanks Anthony
