Hi,

we are new to the forum, so please be kind! We applied for our Skilled Independent (136) visa in the last few days of June. We got an email with an image of our receipt, but a month later we still have no case file reference number. Is this normal?

Yes this is normal you will get a acknowledgement soon and your reference no will be on that

Thats not always the case either i'm afraid - i only got my reference number after about 3 months - a week later i then got my med request etc - see my timeline below.

Judging by your experience, I need to learn to be chilled. No doubt this is part of the "Australianisation" process

Trust me i was far from chilled !!!! Lets just say things move a little slower then we are used to !

I got inpatient after a week because I wanted to send our meds off, so I emailed them and asked them to acknowledge! They did, but it took them a week.
