Unhappy Re: News from April/May 2005- 136 Skilled Visa Applicants!!!!

Hello,

I am a Aug 2005- 136 Skilled Visa Applicant.
My application was received by Dimia on 09/08/05, and untill now I did not receive the ACK email by them.
I am a little bit worried about this. I guess this late is unusual but it might happen in some cases, anyone has had this experience??
Thanks a lot for your opinion.

Dear Tholiv,
You should write an email to DIMIA. Usually I have noticed people getting Ack by Email within few days. Some times I have also noticed people not getting important mails like for Medical request etc. and when they contact DIMIA after a long wait COs say we sent a months ago........

Hi All,
I read on Austimeline that someone (Sheppy I think) lodged app on 10/05 (same day as us) had their credit card debited on 17 May (1 day before us) and had meds PCC requested on 24/08.

So most of us should hopefully hear something soon.

Hi,

I am just wondering how much time it takes if everything is frontloaded?
Does it mean that if the CO finds that everything is fine your visa is granted right away or is there any time consuming steps to follow (assessment or work experience check) ?

Looking at the timeline some people got his/her visa in 3 months after July 2004.

cheers

I really don't think there is any difference in time between 136 and 139. Especially in the first bit - the applications are virtually identical - if anything 139 should be a bit slower as there is additional stuff to look into - such as the sponsor etc.

In fact - I think 136's are getting through quicker - or maybe it is just my imagination!!

Hi tibidabo,
I don't know the definitive answer to that question if indeed there is one. It seems to me that quite a few front loaded apps do seem to come through quickly but there are always a few that are held up. There is also the risk of the first entry date after visa grant being too soon as a result of front loaded meds and PCC.

Good luck with you application.

Hi Gurpreet,
My application is also a 139 non MODL.

I think that 139s are supposed to be fast tracked and before before July 2004 used to come through quicker than 136s. Now that the 139 Assurance of Support requirement is administered by Centrelink things have slowed down and as mentioned before there is little difference between the two visa types processing times with 136 coming through quicker in many cases.

Hi Ace,

thanks for the answer! I don't care about first entry date, I have already book my flight on 5 November. However I've got a feeling that I should rebook it on a later date.

Cheers,

Tibi
