Default New Zealand WHV

Are there any implications to applying for a working holiday maker visa for New Zealand while my skilled independent application for Australia is still pending? Other the obvious address issues, would I have to report that to DIMIA?

We have an LTBV application in for NZ, and are still going out there on a WHV and a Tourist Visa. As long as you tell them waht you are doing, and give contact details in case they need to reach you, I can't see it being a problem.

all the best, Rich

You would have to (obviously) report your change of address to DIMIA.

A NZ penal clearance may also be necessary, depending on the length of time you spend in NZ (on a WHV or otherwise).

As far as I'm aware, police checking for current and former NZ
residents is done directly by the Australian authorities.

Thanks Peter,

I guess it's not really an issue, as there are no more WHV numbers available for Canadians until Jan. 1 of 2004. Hopefully my PR will be granted by then.
