As I understand, this is really a BIG change in the policy, but I'm still missing George Lombard's expert comment on this issue. Dear Sir can you please spare some time and post a Sticky post on this change.

As George's time on BE is totally unpaid you may have to be patient. If you want a personal reply that urgently I suggest you phone him, and be prepared to pay for his advice.

Re: NEW PRIORITY PROCESSING ANNOUNCED ON 19 JULY 2010
Hi,
Latest:
This is the priority processing announced today 19 July 2010:
1) Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS)
2) Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)
3) Certain General Skilled Migration (GSM) visas. (Listed on SOL)
SMP shall be available in second half of 2010.
Therefore DIAC is in position to process Cat 3, right now. I think it is a good news for lots of applicant already applied and have their occupation on SOL.
Best regards

From 14 July 2010, processing priorities (with highest priority listed first) are:
1. Applications from people who are employer sponsored under the ENS and the RSMS.
2. Applications from people who are nominated by a state or territory government agency with a nominated occupation that is specified on that state or territory’s state migration plan.
3. Applications from people who have nominated an occupation on the new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) – Schedule 3 in effect from 1 July 2010.
See: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...ccupations.pdf
4. All other applications are to be processed in the order in which they are received.
So I think we will see only those in Priority 1+2 being processed for sometime to come, and priority2 folk will have to wait for SMP's to be announced.

Computing Professional -NEC
Dear All,
As there has been change in priority processing which definitely has thrashed a lot of minds & souls
Now what is the fate of Computing Professionals which were on MODL/CSL like Computing Professional (Network Security) before these priorities.
Are we coming under this statement:
"Applicants with a nominated occupation of Computing Professional (nec), Hospital Pharmacist and Retail Pharmacist, who have already been allocated a case officer, will be contacted directly by their case officer to advise processing arrangements."
Please professionals specially agents, guide for the sake of all which are depressed due to new changes.

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...-july-2010.pdf .... says following:
Processing Times
Estimates of processing times that may apply to different types of applicants are provided as a guide only. As processing times are dependent on a range of factors, individual processing times may vary considerably from the published estimates. Estimates are subject to change in response to changes in application rates and skilled migration policy.
Information on estimated processing times is available from the departmental website.
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...ssing-faqs.pdf ... says following:
Q14 My application is in priority category 4. When can I expect to have my application finalised?
Applicants with nominated occupations in priority group 4 will have a long wait for visa processing. The
department’s Client Service Charter will be updated shortly with information about current estimated
processing times.
