Need new overseas police check if I have not left Australia?
Do I have to get a new police check if the police check from the country where i came from expired but I have not left Australia since I applied for that police check?
What about the australian Federal police certificate?

Overseas police checks may be - or at least used to be - accepted if older than 12 months, but it was a grey area and down to case officer discretion. If you are a citizen of that country, a frequent visitor, and/or it's easy to get new checks, then you should do that now.
If your Australian police check expires you will normally need to do a new one.

We were on a 457 and when we applied for PR, my OH needed a new UK police check as he had returened to the UK on holiday in between. I had remained in Australia all the time and they did not request a new UK one....or an Australian one. My UK one had expired by a few months. I suspect it is up to each individual case officer.
