Re: My brother had tuberculosis, any chance get a visa
He is 38 years old, has IT degree, working as network engineer at
Hewlett Packard Jakarta since 1988. His wife also meet basic requirement. (His IELTS result is 6.5).
So 60 for skill, 20 for age, 20 for english, 5 for wife, 10 for specific
work experience, 5 for indonesian language. (total 120) + 15 if
I sponsor him = 135
The only doubt is he had tuberculosis when he was 8 years old.
That tuberculosis is not active now. Any one have similar case?
How good is his chance to get Australian permanent residence visa?
Thanks

He may still need to hire an agent. Unfortunately this is not the
sort of advice than can be given out online without full evaluation of
the case and relevant circumstances.

Re: My brother had tuberculosis, any chance get a visa
As far as I know, from reading form 1071i, if his TB is not active, he will be asked to sign Health Undertaking.
I told him that, but he still doubt abou this, since he know that DIMIA
is very strict about TB.
Has any one actually, had TB and currently inactive, get PR visa
approved?

Re: My brother had tuberculosis, any chance get a visa
This is an excerpt from 1071i.
" Where x-rays show possible evidence of TB you will be asked to undergo
more specific test to establish whether or not active TB is present.
...
If your TB has been treated, or your x-ray shows evidence of previous but
now non-active TB, you will be asked to sign an undertaking at the time of
visa grant. This will not adversely affect the outcome of the visa
decision."
So the answer is "No problem".
