Medicals - validity

Medicals - validity
Hi, how long are medicals valid for? I believe (from reading recent thread that they take about 4-6 weeks to come back)
I want to front-load my 457 application (with PCC as well)
As I am asking for them myself, do I get straight in touch with the doctor nearest to me from the DIMIA list?

The medicals are valid for one year. We front-loaded our application (different visa though) and just rang the panel doctors' surgery and made all the appointments direct. No problem!

If your medical has no problems, the results are usually available once the bloods are back, which take about a week.
Not all doctors will allow you to take the results, if they dont, dont worry. I've never heard of a situation where med's have become misplaced due to this.
