Losing patience and faith
Hey guys, not sure really what I want from this post. I guess maybe a little reassurance? (Although I'm sure at least one person will tell me my waiting time is nothing in comparison to theirs ).
It has been four months now since applying for the 489 visa. I still have not heard a single thing. My status remains as 'received'. It gets a little disheartening when I check each morning.
I have read on here from a few people that they have an option at the bottom of their 'upload documents' page declaring they have uploaded the required evidence and are ready to send for processing. I don't have this option. I merely just have the option to upload.
I paid the full amount of the visa on the same day I submitted my application back in February. Had health checks and police certificates were completed and uploaded.
I guess what I am wondering is; is it actually possible to contact them? All I can find is "don't contact us about visa processing times" but realistically I would just be happy knowing that all was okay and that I have done all I am supposed to, in which I'd be happier waiting.
any advice would be greatly received. Xx

So realistically, if you were granted a visa today, would you be ready to move tomorrow?
it's not that long ago that skilled visas took a year or more to process, so 4 months is not a great deal of time in the grand scheme of things.

Hi, I know realistically I am being impatient, it's just the unknown.
in all honestly. I am ready. I have a few £100,000 in the bank. I have no ties here so yes, if it came through today, I'd move within 2-3 weeks (saying goodbye etc and flight dependent of course. Yes. I'm ready!

As a rule if an applicant is asked to provide further information the ' have uploaded the required evidence' script appears.

Looking at current processing times - https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about...ocessing-times
75% within 9 months, 90% within 12 months for 489 state sponsored.

Don't worry, it took us 7 years to get our PR. We were one of the victims of the Pre-September 2007 changes and here we are now as citizens. Be patient.

LOL Public servants work on weekends? They really couldn’t give a toss about your impatience. Chill, it’ll either come or it won’t. Don’t waste your life waiting!

With all that money in the bank, take some holidays abroad, that’ll be rare type in Oz as it’ll be expensive, especially Europe being +10 000kms away.
Create some memories with friends as you’ll find soon that as an expat, apart from immediate family, people forget and you’ll become some random they know of on Facebook. Sure, they tell every mate back home their “best mate” lives in Oz, and they tell you they’ll visit, often, but reality it different to most.
eat your favourite foods that you’ll miss like hell...
gosh so so many things you could be doing in the next 6 months instead of wishing for a government employee to be working on weekends (ain’t gonna happen unless true emergency)

Yes!!! Mega update! Not only did my visa get granted on Oct 23rd when we were here on holiday.... We moved into our own apartment Friday just gone! I have 2 job interviews coming up and so far, I LOVE it here.
It's a little lonely but that's on my part that I need to get out and socialise which I will do. All in all, very happy x

Congrats! These are wonderful news!
So you've applied around mid February and got your decision in mid October. 8 months.
Have you been asked at any point to fill up the Form 80? If so, after how long was your visa granted?
Thanks.

No, not asked to fill in a form 80. I got asked to provide a marriage certificate but that is all.
8 months give or take a few days.
Couldn't have gotten through the process without certain BE people
