Hey Kim, I'm in Great Barr - whereabouts in Staffs are you? We're not sure yet where we're hoping to move too, we've only had the idea in our head for a few weeks. Just bought a book about living and working in Australia and trying to do as much research as poss.

How about you where are you moving to?

We are in Rugeley (kind of inbetween Lichfield and Cannock) hoping to move to Perth or somewhere in or around that area, did WA in March 05 and had a day stop over in Sydney then a week in New Zealand.
Depends I think on what kinda people you are as to where you would like, we are quite ok with our own company so don't need / like lots of people and fuss, like it quiet with some space and scenery, but have 3 Kids 16,18,20 that are hopefully going with us, so can't be too far out, Bunbury was a really cool place, everything in one area.

You must go and look, what does your hubby do?

Wow what a small world, I was born in Lichfield and lived in Armitage until I was about 4.

I've been thinking about Perth, I've heard it's a nice family area but am worried that it's a little cut off from everything. My husband is a carpenter

I have just registered again in the vain hope I get an invite, though it's probably too late now and they've asked everyone they need to.
Hi OZpotty

I have just started the process and loged all my details with gomatilda for the skills assessment for accountant (CIPFA). How did you find the skills assessment? Any advice.

Reading the post it looks like quite an interview senario, waiting for Monday 19th to see what companies will be registered on WWW.skills4oz.com site, the way I read it you kind of have to choose which ones you would be interested in..... anyone else read it the same? Guess it depends on who is interested in you, if its a company or the government.

Am I missing the link?(serious answers only please!!!) I can't see any note of the exhibitors and it was definitely 19th they were to be posted by.Does anyone know who is going to exhibit there?

The full list of exhibitors and their website details will be posted on our website – www.skills4oz.com – by Monday 19 September. We would recommend that you familiarise yourself with companies of interest before you attend the event, much as you would if attending a job interview

As is the way in Australia 'By Monday' means when we get round to it!!!

so does that mean when you have an interview in Aus you just rock up whenever? Excellent - that's the very reason why I want to escape the rat race here ( no offence to rats intended)
