Hi all,

I have a question regarding first entry. I'm the main applicant and my wife and kid is attached as secondary.

1) Do we have to enter Australia together at one time to validate our VISA?
2) Can I travel alone and validate first and they come on a separate trip?
3) Can they enter Australia and validate thier VISA before me?

Another question is, if we need to renew our VISA after 5 years, what I undestand is that we need to settled down in Aust for at least 2 years. Does this apply only to the main applicant? or my wife can stay there without me (as primary), and we still able to renew our VISA?

Yes, both applicants had to complete the Form80. We were also asked to complete a Statutory Declaration about no criminal past and get the signature witnessed at an Australian Embassy/Consulate. Quite a drama involved in that form filling

Q1: No, you can enter seperately
Q2: Yes you can
Q3: No they can't. The main applicant must enter first.
LastQ: I don't know.

It seems they want to be sure about criminal records for some applicants.

haha yeah, we obviously aroused suspicions despite submitting 3 police clearances each! The funny thing was how suspicious the Embassy Staff were ... felt like we were some dodgy crims when all we wanted was them to do was to witness our signature on our declarations. <Sigh> ... after an hour of procedure and we finally got them to sign it Hopefully that's the last bit of paperwork done for us!

I have finished all my medicals and they are finalized now....It took long for CO to finalize the Medicals for my new born child..My CO was assigned on 04th June 09..application lodged 08 Jan 09...Does anyone tell me how long one normally before the finalization of medicals to actual grant...I am just waiting for the grant to fly out of Melbourne and get my resident status changed...

Got my pre grant letter....Finally I saw light at the end of the tunnel...I have got my pre-grant letter...shall travel and get it stamped....
I applied 08th Jan 09...CO allocated 04th June 09..all medicals submitted by July end..Medicals finalised 17th Aug 09...Pre Grant 18th Aug 09...

      Hey guys all of my docs are showing met except PCC. my CO was allocated from 10-06-2009. and i uploaded everything upfront. Don't know why PCC is not showing MET!! I have a Conviction from 2005. And it shows on my PCC. Is this could be the reason? i declared everything on my application though. Any ideas guys? Some expert answer from dear Poly or Dorothy would give me some peace of mind.
