We have let our visas expire whilst being on the wrong side of the world 
and thought that we would have to go through the whole visa process again.
well, how lucky do you want to be. just found out that because we have spent some time in oz within the last 5 years and that OH has substantial ties with his sister who is an oz citizen we can apply for a return residents visa. woohoo.
it might all go wrong and we might have to go in again from the start
but hey it gives us hope at not having to fork out for the police checks and medicals again. and hopefully it will be a shorter process than going for fresh visas.
here's hoping we have a bit more luck and it all goes through.
