Hi, have done around 60-100 hours studying but am just going mad with it all now, i have tried to get a tutor but no one wants to teach me as im native English. So i am feeling super fed up and feel ready to give up but i just cant as that's not in my nature.
I will have a look at the 489 option but im on the csol list so not sure it's an option but anything is worth a try at this point i guess. I have thought about going to Australia to see if i can do anything from that end but that would probably not help. Fi

The IELTS test centres usually also have courses for the test - at least they did when I did mine

Default Re: IELTS

I have an overall 8.0 for my academic IELTS exam with lowest score being 7.5. I am wondering what the scoring system for points is based on for IELTS ie general/academic?

I sat the academic one as I thought I needed it for my nursing skills assessment (I’m now applying through modified assessment as have NZ registration) but I’m wondering if I should have sat General as I’m positive I would have got at least 8.0 in all areas? Surely an 8.0in general is not the same as an 8.0in Academic?

The link to what superior English means on immigration website is not working so I can’t check!

For points purposes they are identical. So, for points you can currently only claim a result of 7.5. Hence yes, many people who need the academic for a skills assessment also do the general for points.
