Im assumming we have to wait till we get a postive assessment from EA as an engineering manager before we can apply for sponsorship from Victoria. Does any one know how long it takes for approval to come through?
We need the sponsorship as OH is nearly 40 and we will low on points.

Hi Mandy

Now I understand why you are doing CDR as Engineering Manager. I think if he can get through as Engineering Manager, he would get through as Professional Mechanical Engineer - but see how you go.

Vic quote 8 weeks on their website, most I know have had to wait 10 weeks plus at the moment.

We've just had ours back after 10 weeks. When I emailed them for an update recently they said 10 weeks is the norm now.

You can apply to Victoria without a positive skills assessment you know. Not sure why, they're the only state that don't require it at the time you apply. We didn't realise this though and waited til we'd got our TRA. If we'd known we would have applied much sooner.
