We finally have sponsorship.

My husband's prospective employer is currently completing our paperwork in Australia.

Does anyone have a rough idea how long it takes to process a 457 visa?

I appreciate that everyone's case is different but a general timescale would be good to know.

Hi Nikky, have a look for a few more threads on this, e.g., the March or April Applicants threads.

Ours took 19 days, which seemed to be the quickest for a while although I think I read yesterday that somebody just got one quicker.

Yes, it does depend on circumstances. If the employer has done it before, for instance, I think it may go through quicker as ours did.

We are still waiting for our company sponsorship to be approved, but have sent all our paperwork and medicals for the 457 as our migration agent said this would speed up the process. He has quoted us 6 weeks for the company to be approved for sponsorship, and also to get out 457 as they already have all our paperwork.

We got ours in 2 weeks, but were told it could be up to 8 weeks.
