Hi

We are in the process of being sponsored on a 457.

My mum is 56 and wants to come out once we are settled - I am an only child.

Can anyone advise the best way to get my mum over to Australia.

SHe may be eligible for a CPV which does cost a fair bit!! Talk to an agent - GO Matilda are good and most agents will give you a free consultation

She could think of doing what my parents did for 15 years - 6 months here on a visitors visa and 6 months at home. Pretty much no hassle in terms of getting visas etc. She can then make up her mind if she wants to end her days here or whether she would be better off at home and you can work on something permanent if that is what she wants. I too am an only child and my parents opted for ending their days at home and they only very rarely rue the winter days.

While you're on temp visa only option is holiday visa. If you get PR could look into parents visa, but will take a few years
