Finally received a response to my query:

"Dear XXX,

The occupation is on the list however it is not available in the drop down list on the online form. There is an opportunity to download the application form at the beginning of Step 2, after which you can email the application to this email address: [email protected]

Please accept our apologies for any confusion.

Moderator, I am not sure could you please put this somewhere for easy reference for anyone else.

Hi Slippery30,

I am also planning to apply for Vic state sponsorship but i have already got my assessment done for the occupation of "accountant'. So do i have to get the assessment done again for "External Auditor"? Please advise me on this if you know any thing? does it have to be the same occupation in GSM application and in state Sponsorship application?

Yes...the occupation has to be same for state sponsorship and GSM application...

Not sure why you wana go the state sponsorship route if you have 120 points..accountant is already on CSL..so u will get priority processing if u have ielts of 7

But i didn't submit IELTS at the time of application so can not wait such long to see whether they will reject or accept mine. I am not on CSL COZ not 7 each for each band in the IELTS. So thought of reapplying.

I know but my husband's IT specialisation isn't on any lists. Like I said, it was on S.A.'s list but it's been taken off now. He would come under Senior Service Engineer (part of the CP-NEC). The only CP-NEC they have on any lists at the moment is either software or managers (neither of which he is).

Thanks anyway though.

Hi, thanks for that but it still doesn't help our case as that list includes pretty much everything BUT what my husband does! (as always... ).

Cheers all the same

Hi so you applied by email then? My husband has Computing NEC Java and this is not on the drop down list, so we have to fill in the downloadable form and email to them then?
Thanks

My case is the same

Here is the timeline

4th Dec - Applied via e-mail
28th Dec - Recieved acknowledgement from Victoria govt. that they have recieved my application and shall respond in 2 to 8 weeks.

Till date I have not recieved any response. Seems these days they are facing influx of large number of applications so over-all our applications can be delayed. I suggest you to apply for 175 if you have requisite points and later on attach sponsorship to your application.

Julie,

Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes you will have to download the form and fill it and email with supporting documents. I included my ACS assessment, Educational qualifications, Resume, reference letter I used for my 175 application.

Good luck!

Aghh!:curse:

Just spent hours completing the form online last night only for it not to submit.:curse:

Managed to extract it all to a word document and sent with attached CV, budget and evidence of problems from their server.

Reply today saying that I need to fill in a word document form they have just sent and return it with an email with attachments. It will be all the information I have just provided but on a new form! A tad frustrating!

However its their ball and we'll have to play the game their way!
