Default Help needed with healthcare

Hi everyone this is my first post so if this has been asked lots of times before, I apologize now.

We are going to Queensland hopefully in October, on a 165 State sponsored investors visa and I would appreciate any help on what we need to do about healthcare. Our visa is temporary for four years and we have been told we dont have access to medicare. So what do we need to do. Do we have to take out medical insurance? Can we see a GP? What are the costs involved?
Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Christine

You should probably take out private health insurance for your own peace of mind. I believe there is a reciprocal agreement for healthcare between UK and Australia, so from what I understand your NHS covers you for emergency care but not routine medical care. Check out NHS to make sure, though.
