Default health

my husband is appplying for the skilled visa, do we all need to be working to pass the medical. ive had M.e now recovering but dont work, should i get a job before meds to show i can now work? many thanks

If like me you are the spouse of the main applicant on a skilled independent subclass 136 who has enough points to qualify then your employment status is irrelevant - they just check your medical history and current state of Health.

I think you will be fine - OH is our main applicant and he has existing diabetes type 1 and after medicals (which initially passed) they have asked for further medical information from specialist about his conditions history, prognosis etc which I believe is very common and nothing too major to worry about (touch wood, formica, plastic etc).

Depends what you mean by 'working'. Parts of me do not.

All applicants under the visa need to pass the medical.
Take all pertinent consultant / gp reports with you to the medical, offer them if the panel doc feels they are relevant.
Essentially as long as you can prove that you will not be a financial burden on or large user of Medicare, then you should be fine.

I cleared ok with fibromyalgia - another chronic fatigue syndrome - so M.E. esp. if not 'active' should be no problem.
