We are also in the same position. I applied in August 2009 and we are still waiting too. I applied under hairdressing (which got taken off the list) and hubby did bakery at TAFE (also taken off the list).

Have addressed our other issues on another thread so won't repeat.

We are living on the Gold Coast. I think that's what makes it worse - we really couldn't leave. I think I would be kicking and screaming the whole way if we had to leave!!! Here's crossing our fingers and toes and everything else xx

That's great but HOW are you staying on if you don't have the 457 or 175? Surely you need me as a cleaner or something??

We are currently on a 485 as we came in on hubby's student visa (again, this job was taken off the SOL list!!!).

485 runs out in July 2013. Hopefully we don't have to return to the UK as we will have been here for 5 years by that time.

Hi All - hope you're all good (and in Oz!)

We sent in our application Sept 09 and I'm noting (on a fortnightly basis) how far the immigration people are getting through the 175 Skilled – Independent visa. Currently they are allocating visas or COs to people who applied in May 2008 ...

I want to believe they WILL get to my Sept 09 applications (and await my CO eagerly!) but I wanted to check if anyone who applied in May 2008 has actually been granted a visa or CO?

Anyone?

I am also Jan 2009 175 applicant. I have however recently got state sponsorship from NSW and emailed DIAC to convert my priority 5 application to 176.

Waiting for their response.

Nice! What did you get sponsorship for? (What profession?)

software engineer. I had new ACS in 2011 and got sponsorship on it.
