George I got it.
George
That little bit of uncertainty went in my way. I bypassed ACS. Just
received today the positive asst letter as technologist.

Dear Avin,
The Institute of Engineers Australia is quite flexible and will assess
computer engineers occasionally but certainly isn't a simple way to
bypass the Australian Computer Society. So your case looks a little
doubtful for a 60 point assessment, sorry :-(.

Dear Avin,
Congratulations.
This approach is not for the fainthearted and obviously isn't likely to be repeated so I'd be careful not to wave it about. The point is that from your description you're a graduate in IT from top to bottom and side to side. If ACS discovers that IEAust is poaching its area of expertise there'll be a turf war, remembering also that ACS is careful to manage eligibility with respect to years of experience but that doesn't apply for engineers.
Cheers,
