We noticed our online application has changed as follows:

07/11/2008 Application fee received
02/02/2009 Application being processed further

it was updated on 02-Feb, what does this mean, are we likely to get a case officer soon or is this normal.

Default Please Help me

I lodged my application in November 2007, I mean 15 Months ago and Im not allocated to case officer yet

I have 2 options,

1st Option

Ok my job on CSL and I have to wait untill March 20th 2009 to see whats up, according to the latest update from DIAC they will process CSL for application lodged before september 2007, by having 175 visa I can work in different states Victoria, NSW, SA,...ETC

2nd Option

there is a chance to get state nomination and allocation to case officer would be in just 2 weeks according to last update from DIAC.

because If I got state nomination, I MUST WORK/ live in one state unlike 175 independent visa which allow the applicant to work in All Australia

I want to ask, If I got state nomination, will my application automatically changed from 175 Independent to 176 State Sponsered?

or I can Just get state Nomination and then wait (using it as Plan B), If I allocated to case office befor April 2009 it will be ok for me AS I will not use State sponsership

If anyone Understand me, please Reply to help me

You should note that the state will send the nomination to DIAC

Answer in RED

Do you know that state sponsorship will take at least 2.5 months. and may be by then you will actually get a CO without having to live in particular state for 2 years in the nominated state. even if it takes longer, won't be more than extra month, so for some one who have been waiting for 15 months, another month shouldn't be a problem I guess.

As you have waited so long..And also as u r in CSL..i dont think you should jump at this level...But one more point...forget about your 2-3 months for State sponsored process..i think you have to go for fresh ACS ( validity is 1 year ) also ( if your are IT Professional )...which will take another 3-4 months...

Hi all,

Quoting the last update email:

State & Territory Nominated Applications:

Once the department has received valid nomination from a state or
territory, applications will be allocated to a case officer within 10
working days.

Applications with Occupations on the Critical Skills List (CSL):

Applications are being allocated in date of lodgement order

Applications are now being allocated to case officers. It is expected all
eligible applications that were lodged before 1 September 2007 will be
allocated by 20 March 2009. Applications that were lodged after 1
September 2007 are not being allocated at present.

Applications with Occupations on the Migration Occupations in Demand List
(MODL):
Applications are not being allocated at present

All Other Remaining Applications
Applications are not being allocated at present

I guess that with this new email that 175 visa applicants have not been kept in the same "band" as the sponsored visas as the previous emails have suggested.

can anyone give us some sort of idea of the timeline we should be expecting. I do appreciate that many people have been waiting a lifetime.

We only submitted online visa (175) Fitter 4112-11 on 23/12/08, we are on the csl and modl but I don't think that makes any difference. If they are going back to Sept. 2007 do you think we may be looking at about 14 months or so to get CO?

Cheers.

Chop.

I guess we need to wait more to get more info, As the number of applications lodged before 1st Sep is unknown and DIAC have repeatedly annouced that there is huge number of applications lodged before 1st Sep. So we need to wait more to get a clear answer.
Just a note though, the number of state sponsored applications planned for this year is around 9500 application while the number of CSL applications for last year was around 24000 application. and since DIAC processed state sponsored application in about 40 days, they might process all CSL applications before june or july. But still it's only a guess.

Hi Mavios,

I thought the CSL only just came in, are the figures your quoting for last year for MODL visas or the portion of MODL visas that are now on the CSL list.

Regards

The CSL was introduced only at the beginning of 2009.
