your spouse is already included on the main application, so does't need to be included on 47A

Isn't your wife wife your co-applicant, normally?

In technical terms, there is a 'primary' applicant and the spouse and
other family members included on the application are 'secondary'
applicants.

Jaj,
I do not catch you.
Are you saying that since spouse is the secondary applicant, hence the spouse need to fill in a Form 47 A ?
On the other hand, the Form 47 Sk already has quite a number of questionaires relating to spouse.
On the other hand again, reading the word `dependent ' literally, isn't it spouse be considered a dependent esp if the spouse does not have her own income ?
Confused......
Help please....

You apply with your wife/de-facto. Fill up Form 47SK. Your wife's details are included in Part C (Nov 2002 version). Assumption is that you're the main applicant and your wife is included as your spouse (what else?). Form 47A is not needed.
Scenario 2:
You apply as a single/unmarried person. Fill up Form 47SK. No spouse details. You later get married before visa grant, you fill up Form 1022 and Form 47A and send them to DIMIA.

Form 47A is needed:
a. to add a spouse after initial application;
b. for dependents over 18 in all circumstances.
It is not required when a spouse's details are included on form 47SK.
