Filling in Medical Forms??

Filling in Medical Forms??
Sorry for another question about medicals, though this one is about filling in the form.
After a MASSIVE hoohaa at my local GP's i have managed to get the info i need about operations, and hospital treatment.
My problem is that my OH had a car accident in 1988 and i had an operation in 1993, now i know the details of these two, what i don't have is the exact date. All i have is the year these events happened.
So, am i alright to put just the year on the form, or will they expect to have the exact date for them??
