I have been informed that from my trade qualification date I need 3 years on the job experience in that role to apply for a visa

Could someone tell me if this is continuous employment or can it be broken

I cannot seem to find this on the Australian government immigration website

I don't think it needs to be continuous, but within a certain time frame possibly. Is the 3 years needed for your skills assessment, points or both?

For the points, you'll need three years out of the ten years prior to receiving an invitation (for five points), five years out of the ten years prior to receiving an invitation (ten points), or eight years out of the ten years prior to receiving an invitation (fifteen points).
