Default Employer Sponsorship - New to site

Hi, Mandy here, hubby and I have read with much interest many threads and wanted to join in. Hubby's UK Employer is going to sponsor him to set up a subsidiary in Brisbane using the 1196 'Sponsoring temp overseas employees' form, assuming this is approved we will be applying using the 1066 'Temp business long stay visa' we just wondered if there was anybody out there who has gone down this route? Any ideas on how long will it take us would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Mandy

Hi Mandy,

Timing depends on the quality of the application and the pressure on the processing office - my only point would be, having seen a number of people holding such a visa after arrival, is whether you've thought through your migration strategy if you're likely to want to stay in Australia. An offshore employer can't sponsor for ENS, for example.

Cheers,

George Lombard

Hi George,
Thanks for your comments.
We do plan to migrate to Australia, would we not be able to apply for a new sub class 457 visa before the current one expired ?
Are there any different visas that are suitable for a continued stay in Oz ?
Many Thanks,
Mandy.
