employability for translators in Oz

Hallo everybody!
So far it's been plain sailing with my application process (Independent). Now they are
asking me to assess own my chances of finding an employment in Austarlia in line with my
qualifications (English- French-Russian medical translator). While I am still in Russia,
talking seriously to potential employers on- line seems like flogging the dead horse,
isn't it? Looking through yellow pages has little effect, too, if at all.
Is there anyone among my readers who lives in Australia and could advice me?
Thank you for your efforts and your time,
Regards,
Constantine [email protected]
