Default Emmigration by academic faculty exchange

I am a Professor in a U.S. University. Does a faculty exchange
have to be between two Universities or can it be between three
or four Universities?

Examples:

Uni's Australian goes from American goes from
----- --------------------- ---------------------
2 UNE to Colorado State Colorado State to UNE
3 UNE to Colorado State Colorado State to ANU
4 UNE to Colorado State North Carolina to ANU

It's not clear what precise visa you are asking about.
For the Education visa, there is no specific 'exchange' requirement:

If when you talk about 'emigration' you mean a permanent visa, then
again there is no specific exchange requirement but there are plenty of
other requirements. Most academics who migrate to Australia on a skill
basis use the Employer Nominated route:
