Assessment of work experience
Hi,
Can anyone tell me what would happen if you worked in a number of different fields, which were differenct from your nominated occupation, and listed them in the work expereince section of the application form?
How hoes DIMIA deal with this? Would the case officer look through the references him or herself or do they get sent off to the assessment authorities for them to have a look through them (but without actually getting them assessed since your nominated occupation would have been assessed).
I am just trying to understand how a case officer processes all of the information in each application!
Thanks
Jonny

Re: Assessment of work experience
Hi Jonny
Based on the questions you're asking and the fact you appear to have a
non-standard case, I really do think you should look hard at hiring an
agent.
Work experience is usually assessed by *DIMIA* with reference to the
Australian Standard Classification of Occupations. They don't normally
get skill assessing authorities involved, but might informally ask a
skill assessing body for an opinion in a marginal case. For example, a
person might claim work experience as an IT professional when they're
really a technician or a skilled user of software. DIMIA would look
closely at this.
